While I’ve booked Trek Travel for my clients, this is my first bike trip! Sure, I was a bit nervous, but having tried out the electric Trek bike at my local Trek shop, gave me the confidence to try a bike trip that involved some hills. The draw of a short, luxury trip with wine and good food was a definite plus.
We just returned and both my husband and I agreed that a future bike trip would be fun, and we loved it! The trip we did is in the north Sonoma region, staying at one hotel in Healdsburg. Healdsburg is an awesome small village, with plenty of wine tasting within walking distance, and lots of nice shops. The Healdsburg area has a great backcountry vibe!We had a wide range of ability in our fun group from avid to one who really wasn’t sure she wanted to be there! The trip is so flexible that you can ride as much as you like, and even ride in the van or bike up and ride back, so no stress at all, you can decide as you go.
Highlights of the trip for us were the giant redwood trees in Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, and the many unique wineries we visited. The guides, Blake and Eric were awesome at recommending wineries for us, and even took several of us by van to a few that were a drive outside of town. I will happily recommend Trek Travel to my clients, as the food, and logistics made for a fun time!
