I’m not sure why I waited so long to go on an African Safari, but now that I’ve gone, I can’t wait to go back! It really is like the Nat Geo Wild shows! This is an experience not to be missed. The food is wonderful, friendly people, the scenery breathtaking and seeing wildlife as it’s meant to be. I had the chance to experience wonderful resorts and wildlife reserves – Twelve Apostles, Table Bay, and Kapama Southern Camp. Each was wonderful, and I would highly recommend to my clients. African Travel did a spectacular job putting together wine tour, Cape Peninsula Tours including penguin viewing at Boulder Beach and a trip to the top of Table Mountain via Aerial Cableway. The days on the wildlife reserve were definitely the highlight of the trip. Beginning with the drive from the airport to the lodge in our comfortable, open top safari jeeps, we spotted giraffe, and zebra. All meals were included at the lodge with wonderful buffets, and fireside dinners. Each day started with an early morning 3 hour safari, the middle of the day at leisure, and a 3 hour 4-7pm evening safari. There was an abundance of lions at this camp, including two lioness walking past our jeep. The wildlife were indifferent to the jeep and see the jeep as one large unit, so it was necessary to stay seated. In addition to lions, we saw buffalo, zebra, giraffe, warthog, wildebeest, hippo, impala, kudu, waterbuk, jackal and vervet monkey plus lots of bird species and of course, dung beetles! There are no visas, or innoculations required for South Africa, and the nonstop flight from JFK was very convenient. I would love to help clients book their own unique Safari Experience!
